My name is Matteo Moscatelli, I am a proud Italian, full of passion and charisma, but also an analytical laboratory technician and beverage expert with over 10 years of bartending experience across London and Zurich. I am passionate about lifelong learning; as Benjamin Franklin said, "An investment in knowledge pays the best interest." I hold this belief close to my heart and strive to live by it daily. Currently, I am pursuing a degree in Food Science and Technology at an Italian university.
In 2024, I completed WSET Levels 2 and 3 in Spirits with distinction. Additionally, I’ve taken IBD courses in sensory analysis for spirits and have been honored to judge several competitions. I train in Shaolin Kung Fu in Urdorf in my free time and love spending Sundays with my wife, Elena, and our dog, Lola, on peaceful strolls.
I aim to make chemistry concepts approachable and engaging for the guests at ZWA, specifically in the context of spirits and beverages. By uncovering the science behind flavor compounds, distillation processes, and sensory evaluation, I aim to deepen their understanding of what makes each cocktail and spirit unique.
