Aug 19, 2024 - Oct 17, 2024

About

The Italian Wine Scholar certification is a comprehensive program divided into two parts: Unit 1 covering Northern Italy and Unit 2 encompassing Central & Southern Italy. Students gain a deep understanding of regions, grapes, and history. Taught by a world-class wine educator and Certified Sommelier, each Unit comprises six 3.5-hour sessions with guided wine tasting of 36 high-quality Italian wines. Final exams are given after each Unit in-person at the Zürich Wine Academy. Students who successfully pass the Unit 1 and Unit 2 exams will receive the Italian Wine Scholar lapel pin and certificate and earn the right to the IWS post-nominal on the professional signature. The program is designed for serious wine enthusiasts and wine trade professionals with prior wine experience and is also beneficial for those pursuing Court of Master Sommeliers qualifications or WSET Level 3 & 4 Awards in Wine. Significant additional self-study is required for success. Space is limited to 12 students, so act today!
