French Wine Scholar Course - English (31 August - 22 October 2026)

The French Wine Scholar In-Person Course, 100% in English, is designed for wine enthusiasts and trade professionals seeking expertise in French wines. Taught by a Master of Wine Candidate, Certified Sommelier, and WSET Level 4 Diploma graduate, the program covers major French wine regions such as Burgundy, Bordeaux, and Champagne, presenting each in its cultural context. Participants will taste 36 high-quality wines with an average price of CHF 40 per bottle during the course and receive the official 330-page French Wine Scholar study manual. The course spans six 3.5-hour sessions and concludes with an in-person examination at the Zürich Wine Academy. Successful candidates earn the digital French Wine Scholar certification. The program is ideal for intermediate and advanced students, and requires additional self-study outside of the classroom. All our classes are also streamed live and recorded via Zoom for the maximum flexibility of our students. With 24 hours advance notice, we can bottle the wines tasted in class in sterilized 50ml samples for students to taste while watching the recording or live stream.
